Indicators 23.1 to 23.3 Share of renewable energy . . . . . . document is available on the Prime Minister’s Website at : www.premier-ministre.gouv.fr (section: Focus). Indicators 23.1 to 23.3 Share of renewable energy sources in gross inland ener- gy consumption in the EU (1990 and 1997). Heat and electricity production from renewable energy sources in France and the EU (1989-1997). The data was obtained from EUROSTAT. The different renewable energy sources taken into account are: hydropower (for the data on France but not for the data on the EU as a whole, this is broken down into three categories depending on the capacity of plants: 1 MW, 1- 10 MW and 10+ MW), hydropower (all plants), wind energy, solar pan- els, photovoltaics, geothermal power, biomass (broken down into 10 categories: municipal solid . . . . . . into 10 categories: municipal solid waste, wood in households, district heat- ing, wood in industry, combined heat and power (cogeneration), liq- uid biofuels, landfill gas, sewage sludge, farm slurries, agri-food indus- try) and total biomass. The data on France is forwarded to EUROSTAT by the Center for Studies and Economic Research in Energy (CEREN) which uses EUROSTAT’s energy equivalents. . . . --3000,4,375,2948,26660
