Abstract: . . . intermittent series resistance problem that resulted in a relatively large difference (5%) between labs in the V mp , P mp , and FF values. Being unaffected by the series resistance, the agreement in I sc and V oc values was still outstanding, agreeing within less than 1.5%. For the SunPower, Sanyo or Sharp modules, the maximum difference in P mp was less than 3.5%. CONCLUSIONS The effort to replicate outdoor test methods and data analysis procedures used at Sandia has been very successful, achieving high levels of both repeatability and agreement between both labs. ASU personnel conducted daylong performance measurements on the five PV modules in accordance with Sandia procedure and guidance. As shown in Fig. 1, the performance measurements included sequential current-voltage (I-V) scans using a DayStar DS-100 curve tracer with modules mounted on a solar tracker or fixed-rack, as well as simultaneous measurements of solar irradiance (using a silicon reference cell and an Eppley PSP pyranometer) and module temperature at two locations on the back surface. These daylong tests were performed on several different days for each module in order to demonstrate the repeatability . . . . . . 53.898 189.18 0.752 Sanyo HIP-190 BA3 Lab Difference (%) - reproducibility 0.6 0.6 -0.3 -2.1 -1.6 -1.8 Sandia 6/13/2002 5.256 4.796 45.659 36.314 174.15 0.726 ASU 3/12/2006 5.203 4.712 45.182 35.527 167.39 0.712 Sharp NT-KR5EX Lab Difference (%) - reproducibility -1.0 -1.8 -1.0 -2.2 -3.9 -1.9 Page 4 Table 2.
