This mounting technology was also combined with a new plug-and-socket design which allows electrical interconnection together with the mechanical fixing of the modules to the sub-structure. Large-area, so-called patchwork modules were realised up to a size of 120 cm by 120 cm. For the electrical parallel interconnection of modules a prototype of a branch connector was developed and is close to production. Module stability was enhanced so that meanwhile the CIS modules passed EN 61646 successfully.
